About this tour

Char Dham Yatra Overview:

Char Dham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage that unfolds in the lap of the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, taking pilgrims to the four holy shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. This journey is considered one of the most auspicious and spiritually fulfilling experiences for Hindus, symbolizing a path to moksha or salvation.

The Chota Char Dham Yatra, a mini-circuit in Uttarakhand, includes the pilgrimage sites of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Each shrine dedicated to a specific deity must be visited in a specific order, adding a layer of spiritual significance to the journey.

The pilgrimage is not just a physical one; it’s a spiritual odyssey. Amidst the breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, flowing rivers, and majestic temples, pilgrims undergo a transformative experience. The journey unfolds as follows:

  1. Yamunotri: Dedicated to the river goddess Yamuna, this temple is surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Garhwal region.
  2. Gangotri: Dedicated to the sacred river Ganga, the temple stands on the banks of the Bhagirathi river, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks.
  3. Kedarnath: Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, nestled at an altitude of 3,583 meters amidst the Kedarnath range.
  4. Badrinath: Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple sits on the banks of the Alaknanda river, surrounded by the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges.

The Char Dham Yatra usually spans from April to November, involving walking, trekking, and climbing. Pilgrims can choose various modes of transportation, including foot, helicopter, or road, depending on their fitness level and preferences.
